Riga Contemporary Surrealism Biennale 2026

Latvian Railway Museum, Riga, Latvia | 9–29 May 2026

My five-part painting series The Cosmic Deer Herd was selected for the inaugural Riga Contemporary Surrealism Biennale, an international exhibition dedicated to contemporary surrealism and its diverse forms.

The selection process involved two juries: curators from Art Riga Fair and VOYZX Fine Art Project, and appointed art critics from AICA (the International Association of Art Critics).

Organised jointly by Art Riga Fair (Latvia) and VOYZX Fine Art Project (Canada), the biennale brought together artists exploring surreal, dreamlike and imaginative worlds.

The physical exhibition took place at the historic Latvian Railway Museum in May 2026. The biennale’s virtual exhibition remains available online until 30 May 2027, allowing audiences worldwide to discover the participating artists and their work.

For me, being part of this inaugural international biennale was a memorable milestone in my artistic journey.

Eumer Cafe — Summer Pop-up Exhibition

Krookka Harbour, Merikarvia, Finland 3-23. July 2026

In July 2026, two of my paintings were exhibited at Eumer Cafe, a charming café in the idyllic coastal village of Merikarvia, Finland.

The café is situated beside the atmospheric Krookka Harbour, where boats of all kinds create a distinctive maritime setting. A small water park in front of the café added to the relaxed summer atmosphere, making this a lovely place to share art with visitors.

I was delighted to bring two of my paintings into this welcoming environment, where the colours and dreamlike landscapes of my art could meet the beauty of the Finnish summer.

Chalice of Abundance

A vibrant celebration of colour, beauty and the vitality of life.
Bold flowers rise from a vase against a soft, dreamlike background, filling the painting with light, colour and a sense of abundance.

Valley of Northern Dreams

My first painting on a black canvas, this dreamlike landscape brings oversized flowers, distant mountains and a small cottage together in a mysterious northern valley — a place between wilderness and dreams.

On the Shore of Space — Avaruuden rannalla

“I am a piece of the universe here on the rock – just like waves in the sea or planets in the sky.”

In September (4-27.9 2026), Galleria Kissaniitty in Reposaari, Pori, hosted my first solo exhibition, On the Shore of Space.

Born from moments spent on the rocky shores of Reposaari, the exhibition brought together the sea, nature, dreams and the cosmos. Through surreal landscapes, symbolic imagery and my five-part painting series The Cosmic Deer Herd, I explored the mysterious connections between the visible world and our inner landscapes.

But the exhibition became much more than an important milestone in my artistic journey.
What I treasure most are the encounters: conversations with familiar faces and new visitors, the sharing of different perspectives, laughter, and the joy of reconnecting with dear old friends.

The warmth and encouragement I received strengthened my trust in my own path as Cosmica Elina.

I left the experience with a deeper sense of connection — to people, to nature, and to the universe we are all part of.

Thank you to everyone who visited, shared their thoughts and made this first solo exhibition so special ❤️
